Colours of Resistance
The war in Gaza does not leave us unmoved. In late 2023, we organised the cultural evening 'Colours of Resistance'. A fundraiser in aid of the Al Awda hospital in Gaza.
We watched film clips, listened to music and poetry and debated the occupation of Palestine, and the global protest movement. With Wassima Kobo, Dima Almeshal, Ahmed Hawwash, Yousra Benfquih, Seppe De Meulder, Maha Abdallah, Koen Bogaert and Rachida Lamrabet.
We organised this evening in collaboration with Kif Kif, Antwerp for Palestine, Viva Salud and De Wereld Morgen.
APPROACH
Genocide is not an opinion
"There is a genocide going on in Gaza. That is not an opinion, that is a fact," Yousra Benfquih substantiated in an impressive text she published in De Standaard on November 18th of 2023.
We invited Yousra to our studio, to record a performance of her text, for screening at the benefit evening.
Afterwards, we published the video on social media.

Viral on Instagram
The benefit evening sold out in no time, allowing us to donate a nice sum through the NGO Viva Salud.
Yousra's video performance went viral on instagram, and was viewed more than 370,000 times.
