Arno in resistance

Visiting climate rebels in London and the women's strikes in Barcelona

THE STORY

On the barricade with climate activist Arno

Arno is a Belgian climate activist. For De Wereld Morgen, we travel with him to London and Barcelona to get inspiration from the activists of 'Extinction Rebellion' and the feminist collectives behind the women's strike.

Mini web series in two parts.

BARCELONA

'Visca la Lluita Feminista'

March 8 is the international day of struggle for women's rights. In Spain and Catalonia, millions of women took to the streets in recent years. The women's strike is mainstream there.

Arno travels to Barcelona to find out why.

We speak to women from the various collectives that make up the feminist movement. We are inspired by their inclusive vision of society that puts caring for each other at the centre - and thus seeks to formulate a response to the threat of the far right.

Length: 23 minutes.

LONDON

Extinction Rebellion

We headed to the UK. We immersed ourselves in a major action of Extinction Rebellion that paralysed the political centre of London.

What does this movement stand for? How do they manage to mobilise so many people, and what do they want to achieve?

Length: 14 minutes.
